Sant
Sant (Hindi: संत) is an Indian term derived from a Sanskrit verb that means both "to be good" and "to be real".[1] From the fifteenth century the term has often referred to those who sing the name of God and worship Him,[2] particularly the bhakti poets of Marathi. Sant is a surname among deshastha brahmins, both Rigvedi and Yajurvedi. It is also used for people who have attained and realised God.
